@Trajectory, a little late now, level 17 Kelly with upgraded defense beat the tar out of Bert very nicely, but yes, I do take the point that I should have tried the different attack moves rather than just working out a way to do enough damage to beat him.
I also am slightly kicking myself sinse I read through the manual again and was reminded to look for hidden items, and I've now worked out where the game keeps galactic dust, however sinse I'm a ways in I'm probably not going to get the special ending, or indeed the treasures, if they're located in areas that you can't go back to once they're finished, ---- but hay it's something for next time.
Running around constantly hammering the C key is going to give me finger ache though :d.
