    To the question about raising in the game, it really depends. There's no way to raise skills without grinding, but, you don't need to have skills to be a fixture in the community. Mummers storytell, and if you're good at coming up with stories or performances, you can quickly see yourself being admired and with many friends. There aren't levels or anything like that. You can create a character and just chat with folk about the happenings, but there's lots of dangers in the world, so it's advised to become skilled with some sort of weapon.
