@115 About monster hunting quest, you won't have the waypoint on your list because the monster is located near the settlement. To find it just check the description of the 8 locations 1 km arround the settlement. For one of those, it'll tell you that you find some fresh monster tracks, just follow them until you find the location where it stops. Then explore the area to find the researched monster to kill it.
You can hill yourself by resting and eatting some cooked food. About resting, just do that behind a closed door if you don't want to be attacked or have some of your items stolen.
