Hey! I'll try to help you with the platforms.
Once you're standing on the edge of the sector, jump 4 to the right, onto the first one. From here you jump 6, then 6 again, then 4 and finally 4 again.
You'll now be on the last platform, and the edge is only 3 squares away, so either jump 4 squares to land safely on the ground on the other side, or just jump 6 to get strate to the item. Once you've taken the item, stepping one square to the right will trigger the boss battle.
So the numbers will be: 4, 6, 6, 4, 4.
