if your question is to point a domain name to your vps, then here is a solution
get the IP address of your ps and go to your domain registrar and go to dns setting. most of them provide dns manager.
then there in type field, select a and in registrars like freenom will have a name field and others will have i think name field. there type @ or leave it as blank. some registrars don't accept @ in the name field. next, in the IP address or target field, enter the IP address of yoru vps and add the record. done
and  when ever you use the domain, it refer's to your server. this way, you can add multiple domains to your vps just in case you wan't to host multiple websites in same vps
