The chest is up hill.
Enter the village.
Go through its back door.
Go through the northern exit, towards the ruins.
Then the western exit.
Now, if you went through the northern exit, you would be near the ruins, but instead find now a southern exit.
There is a huge pit achead.
Jump through it or dash over a collapsing bridge near it. That's your choice.
Go through the southern exit nearby.
Now, if I correctly remember, go through the eastern exit, then the southern one to reach an intersection.
The west road leads to 3 warp points that work only in after episode.
You want to go east instead to finally reach the chest which is on an edge of the cliff.
If you go too far east, you'll fall of the cliff and have to start over.
