Re: domain plobblem

if you created an A record in your dns and set the IP address of your vps in to target field and followed steps i told in your previous topic, you should bee able to use that domain. mostly you should bee able to use it. mey bee make an apache virtual host setting your domain in the host and make a sample site? or mey bee try connecting to your vps by using the domain which you have pointed. they should work. most of the providers like digital ocean and linode, in there vps you don;t need t do any thing. if that still doesn't work,
say you have pointed a domain called example.com to your server
after all dns record creation, login to your vps.
edit the hosts file located at /etc/hosts in linux and c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts in windows
that depends on OS running in your vps
then, go to the botm of the file, and add the following line. replace the IP address i am using and example.com with your vps ip and domain name respectively
123.4.5.6 example.com
in short, at the end of the hosts file, type in your ip address of vps, space and domain name that your pointing
again, mostly you don't need to do this. unless it doesn't work if you pointed your ip in dns of your domain
hope this helps
