No, no no no that won't help. If anything it's generally a good idea to have legacy enabled for compatibility purposes, since not all operating systems work absolutely perfectly with UEFI. I'd recommend turning that back on.
Have you also disabled secure boot? I've heard of that causing all manner of issues, despite the fact that ubuntu theoretically does have support for it. I'd imagine that your device's manufacturer slapped a custom version of UEFI in there.
