Various shops sell gps units, I found one in one of the places that sells retail supplies, EG like the shopping district corridor.
You can also buy environmental suits there, but they're really expensive, which is why I haven't started on missions myself yet.
At the moment doing mining to get my skills up so I can make more cash, plus occasionally trying to find that bloody engineer carson as well as complete the sewer quest.
