Ooopse, getting to this one a bit late due to a cold, but to answer your question Kenzon, yes.
I started out with thief as my third class and necro as fourth, but then decided I liked necro more than thief. Once however I leveled necro passed thief, the classes xp requirements swiched over and I was needing more xp for the thief levels than the necro ones.
it does take being rather patient, sinse obviously you need to leave one class for a few levels and level another up, but it's certainly doable.
