Re: Paladin of the Sky, new full length audio game RPG
Yes, you're on track. There are two save points deeper in Hell on Earth, one right before the final boss.
If it's only one beep, the good point is you can sit with your finger hovering over the button you use for scrolls, then hammer it right away. What I honestly do is get a fix on how many beats of music I need to wait, and go from there.
It's definitely doable, but I agree on the dead space.
I see one problem with the crumbling walls suggestion. If the scroll had one beep near the beginning, or even a group of three that were easy, you could hammer those three over and over, and then it wouldn't matter how hard the scroll really was because you'd just chip away at it. Realistically this makes sense, if you're thinking from a brick-and-mortar-and-chisel perspective, but if the walls are magical (they do hum rather oddly) and if the scrolls are specifically-keyed sequences of magical essence, it would stand to reason that you'd
need to complete the pattern rather than just picking apart its first third or first half.
I tget your frustration but I think allowing a player to chip away at those walls would be a real cop-out.
