Re: Audio Defence: Zombie Arena -- From the Creators of Papa Sangre 2
Hang on, I think we should try and reconcile what we were worried about with what we have. Why do you suppose this is a fun game despite the fact that it has very simple controls? I think it comes down to ambience and the fact that the mechanics are essentially environmental. The game presents a plausible (for the game, that is) set of in-game objects, powerups, monsters, currency and so on, and the result is an immersive player experience even independent of the quality of the audio and the controls, both of which are ingeniously simple. I think that's an important lesson, because it says that the superficial concern that the game cannot be fun because it appears to offer no depth on the basis of the controls is clearly incorrect. PacMan notwithstanding.
I agree, more challenges. But I'm doing just fine in endless mode too, and enjoying it very much. I've surely
run through all the cards, but I'm still playing--well, of course, there's the money aspect, too.
