How To Replace Your PC
A site, HowToReplaceYourPC.com, featured on the Security Now! podcast this week. It is very interesting. While accessibility is of course not directly discussed, much of what it covers is still very relevant to us.
The guy who created this site repairs computers for a living. He is communicating advice suitable for ordinary, nontechnical people, i.e. your relatives. When they ask what computer to buy, send them here.
I agree with much of this, the exception being where he discusses security. In particular, I believe there are important ethical questions around who the gatekeeper is which cannot be dismissed merely by telling somebody that someone other than themselves knows best what should be on their computers. But everything else here is as good as nearly spot on.
