It's not so much the number of cards you want to watch out for, just make sure that the cards you pick are cards you know how to use and fit in with multiple strategies that you are comfortable and familiar with. As long as you keep a relatively good proportion of monsters to spelltrap cards you should be fine, you don't want to have a billion number of level 5 through 9 monsters but only 3 level 1 through 4 to use as tributes. You also want to have a fair number of magic cancelation cards and trap counter cards.
