so I've reached stage 25-4 and I'm going to have to restore my save file which I thankfully backed up due to a set of painful bugs.

I made it to 25-4 and demolished the 6 or so launchers, using about 9 energy balls to do so. I made it to the biocontrol system. I died horribly of course and restored at the checkpoint. I then notice that I had the energy balls that I initially started with and not the energy balls I had at the checkpoint. I started 25-4 with 33 and restored at the boss with 33.
I then depleted the hp of the biocontrol system to about 45% and die again. Now for some reason I could not restore back at the biocontrol system again and I only had about 23 energy balls left, so for some reason my items did not restore on death when the checkpoint was reset.
Is it a bug that you aren't always able to restore to the part of the stage with the biocontrol system? Also it would be cool if you could restore halfway through 25-3, may be after the lift with the 20 or so blades. I'm really liking the last stage though.
