I've amended this bit as the "ripping" word is the wrong one to use - changed to compression as that is important. Added note about ripping to say for MP3 not to important what you use, for lossless important to use stuff like EAC. "the settings you use for ripping MP3 are massively important so it's worth investing time in finding the best for you.
