hempcone drivers: http://www.hempacoustics.com/products.html they have a FR chart posted for the 8" wide range driver, but not much else (no rec enclosure). Omega makes a boxshelf model that uses this driver. They're really new- so not much support in the DIY community...
I have the fostex FE206e (bananna-pulp cone) with the same type of whizzer cone. I just threw them in a 45L box, wired straight to the amp (tube) with no crossover. I couldn't be happier, or I would buy the hemp drivers. The caveat is that you WILL need a sub with these drivers, and they are ruthlessly revealing of your amp and the recording. OTOH, if you thought streaming your flacs from a disk was a revolution- you should hear the dynamics/phase coherence/pinpoint imaging available by simply losing the crossover.
