I decode my lossless apple aac files into flac on the server and send them down to the SB3 as a Flac stream.
Reason I use AAC is so I can use them in Itune and also have Itune as my ripper. Convenient and quick organisation. Server is a dedicated Unix box (P2 400mhz with 320MB Ram) - Never used for anything else but running Slimserver and store the odd photos once in a while. The player is 2 floors below (server is in the attic). Connected wirelessly.
