Whilst generally agreeing re: extra cables, and speaking as a former final spec Karik+Numerik (good) then Ikemi (much better) then CD12 (best) owner) that the tri-vista is a fundamentally great DAC, the X-DAC+tube buffer+X-PSU achives basically the same (or very, very close) sound.
The Linn Numerik DAC is off the pace these days. If you can get either MF option for a good price you won't be disappointed.
