Thanks for the update, sleepysurf! It did seem a bit hard to believe that the difference could be so big. As you point out it's also a good lesson in statistics - two positive trials really aren't enough, but when we're expecting to find something we tend to seize on positive evidence immediately (whereas faced with negative evidence we might just re-do the test).
