It's just supply and demand: all products are in production, but we can't build enough of everything at the moment. RoHS isn't entirely the reason, but if you're interested here is a good intro:

For Squeezebox, there is both RoHS and non-RoHS inventory being distributed, but since we can only ship RoHS product into Europe, there is a supply shortage until production catches up.
