It's not the cost of the mod (which, overall, is not that bad) but I have always been pretty sceptical about "audiophile" tweaks. The placebo effect can be significant...
But, in this case, having read the forums here and at AudioCircle, I think I will give the modded Elpac a shot (and might even throw in blinded, randomized tests!).
