CFP: check that you use the "normal.drc" from http://www.inguzaudio.com/RoomCorrection/normal.drc, not the one from the drc distro.
Super-gonzo: you could try install the plugin and use its EQ settings; the CPU hit for that is slightly less than when running correction filters, but in the same ballpark.
