By "re-rip" do you mean putting your CDs physically in the reader and running another program (eac, CDex, etc.) on them? If so, why do that? The fundamental point of any lossless encoding is that they are lossless. So you can always convert the compressed data back into exactly the same .wav (PCM) file bit. Once you have that, all you need to do is compress the PCM data with your favorite new compression algorithm.
