Not sure I understood this...are you saying that the Anthem converts an analog signal from an external source (eg a DAC) to a digital signal, and then back to an analog signal? If you get a DAC, the main purpose would be to get one that has a better digital-to-analog conversion perfomance than the one in your pre-pro.
