The Word Clock feature allows you to use the Transporter with a DAC that has a Master-Clock output. The Transporter would basically throw-out any clocking information from the source and use the Master-Clock from the DAC...this is really the best solution for minimizing the effects of jitter (assuming the clock in the DAC is a good one). You can also use it with an external clock (eg. Apogee Big Ben)...
