Just wanted to actually record that I have modified my stanza on this a
year later:

I have indeed re-ripped my favorite albums with FLAC, and for albums I
merely like I indeed think that MP3 320kbps is audibly superior to
256kbps. 

Just for the record, one of those live and learn things.
