I have two of three configs you mention: 1) SB3 analog to power amp 2) SB3 analog & digital to HT 3) Transporter analog to power amp Since you are getting the TGP-5, I would recommend a SB3 wired on both digital & analog sides to the TGP-5 and then use whichever side sounds better. I think the Transporter would be wasted as you are likely to want to use the TGP-5 DAC. My next upgrade of HT coming soon will go component as you are doing. I am tired of thowing out a perfectly good power amp just to get the latest in audio/video HT preprocessing. A SB3 into the HT is what I have and plan to continue. Did you look at the Anthem Statement D2 in comparison to the TGP-5?
