Hey, I was serious this time! :)

Not sure if it's part of common knowledge or not, but it well known
that brain can generate its own perception products, and it has no way
to discern what is real and what not. It especially true about memory -
if you have something in memory, be it something real from the past, or
something generated based on few independent occurrences - brain has no
way to discern where's the real thing.

With music it's kinda similar - you have no way to really know if you
hear that nuance or it was "built to order".

If you don't believe - I don't insist, but rather suggest to read,
there are few highly interesting works on the subject. This stuff is a
part of my "other" hobby.
