i'm posting to Audiophiles cuz i figure you guys would be best to address with a question like this.
I'm trying to build a nice bedroom system around my Squeezebox. Currently i'm running it wireless into my amp, the Naim 5i. I get a fair amount of 'hum' noise from the device (most audible before playing any music of course), even at moderate volumes. I dont hear this from other components connected to the Naim. I have decent (but not junky) RCA interconnects ($30 bestbuy quality). I noticed if i physically touch the input jack on the back of the amp it gets slightly quieter, but not much. Thoughts? I'm considering going w/ an outboard DAC for sound-quality reasons, will this also give me a cleaner 'black' background?
