Maybe, maybe not. It depends on the setup. It would not be the first time I see someone with a supposed audiophile setup abuse the loudness setting because of a bass complex. Again - some monitor speakers are lacking when it comes to foorstanding designs with more volume. It's natural - not many passive monitor speakers focus on bass delivery.
