Right, the stock SB3 digital output's jitter is not that great. This is the reason people are changing out the power supply and modding the device. I have found the Bolder cables digital mod and modded Elpac improve the sound of my SB3 (via digital output). You can probably get the Lavry DAC which people report is immune to jitter from the digital input. As another poster 325xi, mentions, I am very suspicious about the quality of the USB approach. Empirical Audio does mods in this area and they seem to throw lots of money and tweaks into getting a good quality out of it.
