A cheater plug may be a diagnostic tool, but shouldn't be left that way
as the ground pin is there for a reason. Things with an IEC connector or
third prong may not have a double insulated enclosure. I'm almost
surprised PS Audio never got sued because/if a removable ground pin
caused a fire/electrocution.

Mark, perhaps the sub is where the noise comes from because that's what
plays the 50-60Hz signal, but the cause is something like a cableTV box
or non-audio component?
