Sadly, I originally used iTunes to rip to MP3 as I didn't want to be
tied into the proprietary Apple lossless.  But I hadn't heard of
Squeezebox then.  I've learnt a lot from these forums since, and have
downloaded dBpoweramp Reference.  This seems to rip to FLAC well and
the automated tagging is quite good (though I would prefer higher res
album art).  The secure rip slows things down a bit but I understand
this would be slightly quicker if my CD supports C2.  I'm having
trouble finding this out.  The manual says to insert a scratched CD. 
Well, I haven't got any!!  I take very good care of mine and I'm not
about to scratch them needlessly!
