try using a test disc ...like the ones from Chesky Records Jazz Sampler
& Audiophile Test Compact Disc - Volume 1

this can be dropped onto the puter and you can use the varios tracks to
find your best seating position.

I'd start by sitting at the piont of an equilateral triangle with the
speakers at the other two points...

your speakers should be pointing forwards and parallel the back
wall....you can experiment with the distance out from the rear wall
..but a lot depends on the type of speakers your using. You will need
to check the makers recommendations.  Once a suitable position has been
located  you can then see what effect turning the speakers   [toeing in]
will have.  Remember what you do to one speaker you must do to the other
or you may loss the stereo effect.
