try looking at the speaker connection it could be that the 3.5mm mini jack has a poor contact ....I've had this on no end of 3.5mm sockets on walkmans ....a small ammount of vibration could be just enough to rattle the socket to create a break. Try cleaning the 3.5mm pin with deoxit or similar. If you can get the mini socket out check it over with a DMM for continity...
