Not all cables are made the same way.  I'm sure some RG-6 cables are
crappy copper plated steel.  Blue jeans cables uses Belden 1694A for
all kinds of stuff from analog audio, to video, to spdif.  The specs
say 18 AWG solid copper.

I agree on the F connectors, they suck.  If you're going to crimp on a
non-RCA connector use BNC.
