I think the basic test has to be to simply disconnect the offending computer from the router and if that does not cure it, then it is clearly interference through the mains loop, despite the consumer unit being in there. I will try this tomorrow.
However, I've had this computer quite a long time now, and haven't really noticed it affecting the system when playing vinyl or the CD player that is now languishing in a cupboard.
