These are similar how Meridian speakers are setup.

However they are missing a means of controlling the gain on the preamp
with in them. You'll have to use digital attenuation which is not good
on the digial inputs.

And I suspect the analog inputs may have A to D converters on them.

With Meridian speakers there is seperate control cable to control them
and a display with IR input on the front to know what volume you are at
etc. and to control them with a remote.

If you want digital speakers, check out used Meridian's. Even used
prices might seem high but they are worth every penny.

I used to have N803's with Krell amps and even Meridian's DSP5000 sound
so much better with no huge hot amps and cables all over the place.
