As far as the O/P is concerned, I don't know the Dynaudios, but the company recently won the competition to suppy the BBC with monitors, so that's a good start - definitely worth short-listing. Balanced inputs, response-trim - all you need is a Transporter or a pre-amp with balanced out and you've got what could be a great system. Get some decent (high) stands, listen to them on axis fairly near-field. No amp/speaker matching issues, no speaker cables .. what could be easier. All other things being equal (and they aren't always) an active speaker has overwhelming advantages over a passive one.
