Welcome to the Forum and the wonderful world of Squeezebox. There are
tons of threads on this subject so do a quick forum search.

In my opinion and from testing, its basically a waste of time. One of
two things, either save up for a $500 plus DAC or buy a Transporter.

Please see the following Threads: 'Read whole Thread, pay attention to
Post #7' (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=63349)

Basically, there are internal switchers after the main DC input so
upgrading or going to a linear power supply is a waste of time and
money. The SB3 is already a good NMP and to make improvements worth
paying for takes the money that makes a Transporter or a nice DAC the
logical route to follow.
