Well...
Actually, I'm not so sure of that. For example the remastered version
of Wishbone Ash (1st Album) makes the vinyl sound just like it was: dull
(with great songs). See also Live Dates 1.



I must have played the vinyl version of Argus at least 200 times, so I
kind of know how it sounds. I remember being surprised when the original
CD came out that it sounded rather similar... although the hi-hats at
least didn't sound like they were coming through a Big Muff!

I think you have been damaged by the MT re-mix.
