the receiver has a fairly decent dac. 1) what is your current setup comprised of, 2) have the speakers been properly placed and 3) have you applied any acoustic treatments to your listening room? if the answer to 2 and 3 is no then I wouldn't bother with a dac, same if you have a nasty amp/preamp.
