Until recently I've used my Rotel transport direct via analog out, but lately have been more impressed with my CI Audio DAC. The DAC allows one optical-in and one coax-in. My older transport has only coax-out, so naturally I'm going to be using my SB3's optical out. I have a few optical toslink cables, both old and generic. Sine I'm not familiar with quality issues in the optics I'd like your opinion; where should I look for a good (or best?) cable?
I'd like to move beyond the "bits is bits" argument so to be more specific: - Which optical toslink provides the best physical connection (spring loaded, etc?) - Glass or synthetic? - Least loss from internal refraction and reflection? - Cost vs. perceived value? - Your favorite? -- kphinney -I like it, you may not.
