Quite remarkable. You have to admire all the tooling that he has built. The con-rods on that vacuum pump look like modern art. Given how eccentric the whole thing is, if it wasn't clearly French, I would have sworn that it must be English. Perhaps he had English parents.
One thing I missed in the film. Why was he doing it? Are the valves better (whatever that means) because he makes them himself, can't he get replacements for a particular type - what is it that has made him do this?
