I'm personally not fussed about balanced outputs (over a 1 metre
connection) - but I understand why you need them!

However, I really would like the ability to use the toslink  on the 
Touch as a source for external clock sync (from my TACT in my case).

I suspect this would require hardware surgery though. Probably a
question for the DIY forum once Touch gets into the wild... ?
