The TV handshakes with the HTR. The HTR sends out a handshake request to the TV, and the TV responds. If the device cannot receive the protocol it is being asked to receive it basically says so back to the device trying to send the protocol. Your TV cannot receive DD so it tells the HTR not to send it.
