any centralised distributed service is vulnerable to attack - an english teenager has just hacked into the CIA from his bedroom for example - we live with the threat because of the advantages. once upon a time people had cds and had similar anxieties about ripping them and putting them on their own networks; now they're worrying about storing stuff in the cloud .. me personally, i'm looking forward to when everything is in the cloud, intelligently mirrored on whatever local devices i fancy. just like it's nice to have electricity wherever i happen to be.
