Spotify Premium streams using Vorbis at 320kbps. Less helpful information perhaps: I think it sounds good. I haven't tried this, but I suspect I would struggle in a blind comparison with CD.
If I loved some music I would still buy it on CD and rip it, especially if the best master isn't available on Spotify. But Spotify is more than acceptable when visitors want to play their favourite stuff! It's great.
