Yes, my system has been setup this way for years now. TP balanced outputs driving the amps in my ATC speakers (via 13dB passive attenuators). It's the best sound I've ever had.
Make sure your basic gain staging is correct. Use passive attenuation so that 100% volume on the TP is the loudest you ever want to listen, and then use the TP's volume control for day-to-day adjustment. This maximises signal/noise ratio. It also keeps the audio signal in the most linear part of the DAC, but that's a secondary consideration if your source material is sourced from CD (ie. 16 bit). If you're using the balanced outputs you'll need to add the attenuation externally; if you use the unbalanced outputs there are internal jumpers you can set. -- cliveb Transporter -> ATC SCM100A ------------------------------------------------------------------------ cliveb's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=348 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=90497 _______________________________________________ audiophiles mailing list [email protected] http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/audiophiles
